About This Event

'Music for Wellbeing (Winter Solstice)' is scheduled for 16 December 2026 at Tallis Wood in Radford Semele. This event features community music and song sessions led by local musicians and ARC wellbeing facilitators around a fire, focusing on seasonal themes and nature connection. It is an alcohol and drug-free space, welcoming all who enjoy singing or wish to listen.

Seasonal community music and song sessions around the fire with ARC wellbeing facilitators and musicians Eleanor Brown and Agnes Ashbell

Join us for MUSIC MEDICINE: seasonal sessions based around the Celtic Wheel where you will be led in community singing and nature connection by local musicians and ARC wellbeing facilitators Agnes and Eleanor.

Expect a warm welcome and laughter around the fire in a local woodland. Enjoy folk, protest, pop, heart songs and more!

This is an alcohol and drug free space where raising our voices together is the only medicine we need and much needed in these times!

You are welcome if you enjoy singing no matter how you judge your voice or how it has been judged.

You are welcome if you want to just sit, listen and enjoy the atmosphere.

We will gather around the fire every 6 weeks to mark the Celtic Calender and turning of the wheel.

Our second session will mark Winter Solstice - our mid winter point when daylight hours are shortest and the dark nights at thier longest.

Hot drinks and song books provided. Over 18s only.

Date: Wednesday 16th December 2026

Time: 5pm - 7pm

Cost: This is a paid session based on a sliding scale of what you can afford. Please donate between £15 - 25 per session*

"It was so special. Tallis Wood was buzzing, you could feel it in the air!"

*ARC have relied on funding for the past 15 years to offer all our sessions and courses for free but we are diversifying to offer new opportunities even when funding is unavailable. The ticket price covers the planning and delivery time of two facilitators/musicians, hire of the woodland, printing of booklets, purchase of firewood and refreshments. We plan to trial a few sessions to see if the income from tickets is sufficient for them to continue every 6 weeks. Please bear this in mind when you make your donation. Thank you!
