This course provides learners with a Full Paediatric First Aid Certification and meets the Ofsted EYFS requirements.

This course provides learners with a Full Paediatric First Aid Certification, meeting the Ofsted EYFS requirements for a first aider working with infants, children and anyone under 18 years of age.

The qualification is delivered over 6 hours of e-Learning and 6 hours practical training. E-Learning must be completed prior to the practical day as learners will be assessed on all areas of content.

• Unresponsive Casualty (Not Breathing) - Infant & Child

• Unresponsive Casualty (Breathing) - Infant & Child

• Anaphylaxis - Epi-Pen (adrenaline auto-injector) training

• Asthma

• Croup

• Bites & Stings

• Fracture, Dislocations

• Head Injuries

• Diabetes

• Meningitis

• Sepsis

• Minor Injuries

• Fevers

• Poisons

• Electric Shock

• Drowning

• Extreme Temperatures

• Assessment

Assessment:

Learners are continuously assessed by the Trainer/Assessor. Learners attending this course should be aware of the responsibilities of a First Aider. All learners will be assessed whilst demonstrating first aid skills in a real-life scenario, they will therefore be required to kneel on the floor during recovery and CPR assessment. Learners will also have to successfully pass an end of course multiple-choice questionnaire in order to be certificated.

Certificates:

Certificates are issued electronically to the learner once they have:

· Successfully completed all required theory elements

· Attended and completed the practical face-to-face session

· Demonstrated competence in all assessed skills

Certificates will comply with the requirements of the Statutory framework for the early years foundation stage, supported by the guidance provided by Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981.

Certificates are valid for 3 years.
