A marketing workshop for hippies runs at Thrivemind Village in Derby on 27 September 2026 starting at 08:00. The event offers a pay what you can option with fees ranging from CAD 27.96 to CAD 320.83.
This Pay What You Can (PWYC) workshop offers ways to get clients that are deeply respectful, trauma-informed, and conscience-driven.
Marketing can feel good.
That's the premise of this workshop: You don't need to sell your soul to sell your work.
Too much marketing (even by savvy, conscious entrepreneurs) creates either no response or seems “over-hyped” and triggers a “used car salesman” reaction.
In short, it feels awful.
Since 2001, I have traveled around North America & Europe working with conscious entrepreneurs just like you. Some successful, others struggling. And I've gathered quite the assortment of success stories and strategies right from the horses' mouths.
This workshop is my best distillation and collection of those principles, practices and stories shared from a high, 30,000' level.
This workshop is for those who know they need to market but who hate marketing. You don’t have to choose between ethics and effectiveness.
You can sell successfully and sleep soundly.
In This Workshop You Will Learn How To:
Apply the Seven Fundamentals of the Marketing for Hippies approach (Space, Ethics, Niching, Point of View Marketing, Business Model, Hub Marketing, and Sharing).
Get more word-of-mouth and attract more of the clients you want (without ever sacrificing your integrity or spending a fortune).
Apply my best core ethical marketing strategies on how to market your business in a way that’s genuinely good-vibes, deeply respectful, trauma-informed, consent-based, conscience-driven, courteous, and that honours the dignity of everyone involved (including you).
Market your beautiful work beautifully – in a way that makes the world better.
Market with no fake scripts, no pitching, no inauthentic self-promotion, no high-pressure sales tactics, no manipulating anyone and make sure your marketing gets a positive response and creates warm feelings of trust.
Who This Workshop Is For:
Primarily this day is focused on service providers (usually coaches and healers). You're also welcome if you are a Therapist, Massage Therapist or Body-worker, Yoga Instructor, Herbalist, Shamanic Practitioner, Life-Coach, Meditation Teacher etc. I've also had crafters, farmers and permaculture folks and they've loved it too. Everyone is welcome.
This workshop seems to be particularly useful to those who are new to business or, at least, new to marketing.
You resonate with what you’ve seen of my work online.
You want to be in business for at least another decade
I've Got A Special Place For You In My Heart If You :
You've got that feeling of, "This is my year."
You love supporting local farmers, makers, and craftspeople.
You're drawn to traditional skills, local economies, mythology, folklore, and ancestral cultures.
You're passionate about supporting Indigenous communities.
You're a Doctor Who fan.
Who This Workshop Is Not For?
If you’ve already been through my Signature Workshop in the past few months, this day is a revisiting, deepening and elaboration of that. There will be some repetition. It may also not be for you if you are...
If you've already been through my Signature Workshop in the past few months, this workshop revisits and deepens much of that material. There will be some repetition.
If you already know what you need to do and are craving personalized, immediately applicable, hands-on help or detailed systems, templates, or technical tools, this workshop isn't designed around that. It's more focused on the principles and frameworks behind ethical marketing.
If you're lacking life direction, this probably isn't the best place to begin. I have colleagues whose work is much better suited for that stage.
If you're drowning in overwhelm and hoping this workshop will immediately solve your business or life situation, this probably isn't the right place to begin.
If you're mainly looking for technical or tactical help with specific marketing tools or platforms, this isn't the focus.
a fundamentalist and need everyone around you to share your worldview or political analysis in order to feel comfortable in the space, this workshop probably isn't the right fit.
If already have the fundamentals in place (e.g. your niche, point of view, business model, and marketing already feel clear, enjoyable, and consistently effective) you'll probably get more value from one of my other offerings (e.g. coaching (https://marketingforhippies.com/puttering/) or my membership (https://marketingforhippies.com/membership/)).
This is marketing you’ll actually do.
My name is Tad Hargrave and I want to invite you to come and join us for this day-long workshop, my signature event that I call Marketing for Hippies 101.
PRICE: $25 deposit + Pay What You Want at the End.
What does this mean? You pay $25 to secure your spot.
And then you get to enjoy the workshop and, at the very end, you can pay me whatever you'd like to pay.
It's an honest-to-goodness, decide-at-the-end, no funny business, pay-what-you-can/want deal.
OR: Pay a flat $300 market
