Join us to discover the best ways to identify broadleaved trees in summer.

Get ready to learn all about identifying trees in the summer season! This hands-on workshop will teach you how to recognise different tree species with trees in full leaf. Your tutor will lead you through the basics of tree identification, from bark patterns to twig shapes and leaf patterns, as well as site and environmental factors which favour certain species. This is a great opportunity to enhance your ecological knowledge, and grow your appreciation for the beauty of trees in all seasons.

Age: Over 14s only. Under 16s must be accompanied by a paying adult.

Where can I park? There is plenty of parking at Carsington Water. You must give your registration number to the desk otherwise you will be charged.

What facilities are there?:

The event will be hosted inside our classroom and outside at our pond dipping platform. Toilets, a cafe and shops are located within the courtyard at Carsington Water.

What is your cancellation policy?

Derbyshire Wildlife Trust reserves the right to cancel the course at any time. Attendees will be notified at least 24 hours in advance and will be entitled to a full refund.

Can I transfer my ticket to someone else? If you would like to transfer your ticket to somebody else after booking, please email trainingenquiries@derbyshirewt.co.uk

Will the event be postponed if there is bad weather? Unfortunately we cannot control the weather so most courses will go ahead as planned. However, in extreme cases we may cancel/postpone if the weather is likely to pose an unacceptable risk to staff and attendees. Wherever possible, we will contact attendees prior to the event start time to advise.
