About This Event

The 2nd International Early Watercraft Congress will be held at Derry Guildhall on 5 November 2026. The conference covers archaeology, anthropology, and the conservation of early vessels such as dugouts and rafts. Ticket prices range from free to £65.00.

Welcome to EWA-2 (2nd International Early Watercraft Congress)

Sponsored by the Early Watercraft Association, EWA-2 explores all aspects of early watercraft. Live presentations will address early boats from the perspectives of archaeology, anthropology museum science, experiment, and public engagement, considering technical, economic, social, artistic, symbolic, and other aspects of the craft that enabled humankind's spread throughout the world. Local and regional tours and excursions of historic and cultural interest will be held on Nov. 5 & 9.
