In 1976, Ulster University established the United Kingdom's first physiotherapy degree programme, helping to transform physiotherapy education and laying the foundations for a profession that continues to shape healthcare today.

Fifty years later, the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy Northern Ireland and Ulster University are delighted to invite graduates, former and current staff, students, healthcare leaders and friends of the profession to a special Gala Dinner celebrating this remarkable milestone.

The evening will celebrate the pioneers who established the profession in Northern Ireland, recognise the achievements of graduates over the past five decades and look ahead to the next generation of leaders who will continue to transform rehabilitation and health and social care.

Under the theme "From Pioneers to System Leaders", we will reflect on physiotherapy's contribution to improving lives, advancing rehabilitation and influencing health policy and service delivery across Northern Ireland, the UK and internationally.

Whether you graduated in 1979 or 2026, we hope you will join us for what promises to be a memorable evening of celebration, reflection and reconnection.
