A compelling stage exploration of cross-cultural love and tradition in modern Dublin.

Directed by acclaimed theatre facilitator and writer Newton Barabara ‘Who will Pay The Bride Price’ is a poignant, timely narrative examining the delicate intersection between heritage, modern relationships, and integration in contemporary Ireland.

The play follows the journey of an Irish woman and an African man, whose relationship is pushed to the brink when traditional customs clash with modern expectations. In the word of director Newton Barabara, ‘This production reflects real conversations taking place across diverse communities in South Dublin today, demonstrating the vital power of maternal empathy and dialogue in bridging cultural divides.’
