El arado y las estrellas, traducida al español castellano por Marta Callava, llega al escenario del Sean O’Casey Theatre con una selección de escenas de esta obra fundamental del teatro irlandés.

Ambientada en Dublín durante el Alzamiento de Pascua de 1916, El arado y las estrellas cuenta la historia de personas corrientes atrapadas en tiempos extraordinarios, explorando el amor, la pobreza, la política, el conflicto y las esperanzas y temores de la clase trabajadora de Dublín.

Esta singular representación en español reúne a un grupo de actores que se conocieron en el Instituto Cervantes de Dublín y que se subirán juntos a un escenario por primera vez. Su pasión por el teatro y su conexión con la comunidad hispanohablante de Dublín han hecho posible este proyecto.

For the first time in Ireland, Sean O’Casey’s The Plough and the Stars will be performed in Spanish.

El Arado y Las Estrellas, translated into Castilian Spanish by Marta Callava, comes to the stage of the Sean O’Casey Theatre as a special performance of selected scenes from O’Casey’s landmark play.

Set in Dublin during the Easter Rising of 1916, The Plough and the Stars tells the story of ordinary people caught up in extraordinary events — exploring love, poverty, politics, conflict and the hopes and fears of working-class Dublin.

This unique Spanish-language performance brings together a group of actors who met through the Instituto Cervantes in Dublin and who are taking to the stage for the first time. Their passion for theatre and connection with the Spanish-speaking community in Dublin has brought this remarkable project to life.

A unique opportunity to experience one of Ireland’s most important plays in Spanish — and to see O’Casey’s Dublin through a new language and perspective.
