Two separate tours will be available: 11 am and 2pm. Please select your preferred tours(s) when completing registration.
Dublin boasts over 170 different decorative and buildings stones in its built fabric. Prof. Patrick Wyse Jackson will take you on a tour through some of the Irish and imported stone types used in Georgian to modern buildings, and their characteristics, geological formation, and fabrication by skilled stoneworkers.
These walks are based on the recently published book The Decorative and Building Stones of Dublin: a walking guide, copies of which are available in Hodges Figgis or the Library Shop, Trinity.
The tours are limited to 20 places, if you cannot attend please cancel your ticket in advance to ensure it can be reallocated.
Tours will leave from Trinity College Dublin, please note the departure location carefully as these vary depending on the tour.

Tour #1: 11am-12.30pm, departing from the Trinity Front Gate (this will be all outdoor so wheelchair accessible)
Tour #2: 2pm-3.30pm, departing from the Trinity Museum Building (This will begin in the Geology department which is not wheelchair accessible, all other locations are accessible)
