FUTURE WORLD-MAKING with LUCAS RIZZOTTO

Step inside the creative process of internationally acclaimed immersive creator Lucas Rizzotto!

How do you take a strange, ambitious idea and turn it into an experience people genuinely want to be part of?

In this hands-on creative workshop, Lucas Rizzotto will open up his creative process and share how he develops ideas, experiments across different media and technologies, and turns unconventional concepts into ambitious audience experiences.

Drawing on a body of work spanning viral YouTube and Instagram storytelling, film and virtual reality, Lucas will take participants behind the scenes of his projects, exploring the creative and technical challenges involved in bringing them to life. He’ll look at the relationship between storytelling, technology and audience participation, what happens when experiments don’t go to plan, and how years of creative exploration have shaped his latest immersive work, Escape The Internet.

This is less about learning a particular piece of software and more about learning how an inventive creative mind approaches an idea: questioning familiar formats, prototyping, experimenting and finding new ways for audiences to become part of the story.

There will also be plenty of opportunity for discussion and Q&A with Lucas, making this a rare chance for artists, storytellers of all disciplines, filmmakers, immersive creators, fans of compelling experiences, technologists and students to learn directly from a creator working at the intersection of storytelling and emerging technology.

Come with ideas! Come with questions. Leave thinking differently about what an immersive experience can be.
