These events form part of the stakeholder engagement process for the development of the Textiles Roadmap to Circularity, led by Zero Waste Scotland in support of Scotland's Circular Economy Strategy.
Scotland is transitioning towards a more circular economy, where products and materials are kept in use for longer, waste is reduced, and greater value is retained within the economy. The textiles sector has been identified as one of the priority sectors within Scotland's Circular Economy Strategy, with a dedicated roadmap being developed to accelerate change and unlock opportunities for greater circularity across the sector.
Zero Waste Scotland is inviting stakeholders from across the textiles value chain to join one of the workshops to share their views on the draft interventions being developed through the Textiles Roadmap to Circularity.
Following the same collaborative and systems-based approach used to develop the Built Environment Roadmap to Circularity and Energy Infrastructure Roadmap to Circularity, these sessions will bring together representatives from industry, government, academia, third sector organisations and other key stakeholders to help shape the roadmap's final recommendations.
What to expect?
During this interactive session, participants will:
Explore the vision and objectives of the draft Textiles Roadmap.
Review and provide feedback on proposed interventions.
Discuss opportunities, challenges and implementation considerations.
Identify areas for collaboration and collective action.
Help ensure the roadmap reflects the needs, expertise and ambitions of Scotland's textiles sector.
Who should attend?
We welcome participation from organisations and individuals involved in:
Textile and fashion manufacturing
Retail and brands
Collection, sorting, reuse and recycling
Repair and refurbishment
Public sector procurement
Academia and research
Membership bodies and trade associations
Social enterprises and third-sector organisations
Policy and regulatory stakeholders
Why take part?
Your insight and experience will help ensure the roadmap is practical, ambitious and capable of delivering meaningful progress towards a more circular textiles system in Scotland. The feedback gathered through these events will directly inform the refinement and finalisation of the roadmap.
Together, we can help shape a future where Scotland's textiles sector delivers greater environmental, economic and social value through circularity.
