For Scottish Climate Week, join us for a free screening of this eye-opening and energising film about the climate and nature crisis.

This event is open to all and includes an audience and panel discussion following the screening.

Hosted by Abertay University and the University of Dundee, the People's Emergency Briefing is a 50-minute film that summarises the National Emergency Briefing, interspersed with public reactions and appearances by famous faces.

The National Emergency Briefing event took place in Westminster last November. It was a series of nine lectures, introduced by Chris Packham, aimed mainly at MPs, other politicians and policymakers, delivered by scientific experts on the urgency of the climate and nature crisis. Each explored a different aspect of how the changing climate will affect people's lives, including food supplies, national security, health, biodiversity, and the economy. The purpose is to push the government to make this information public as a priority, so that people understand the real risks we face and help mobilise action before it's too late.

Screenings are happening all over the UK, and for Scottish Climate Week, one is taking place at Abertay University on Thursday 1 October from 6 pm, followed by a panel discussion featuring Maggie Chapman MSP, Nikita Mickevics, Dr Rebecca Wade, and Dr Alexandra Morel.
