Moving with Life is a community session taking place at Brancepeth Village Hall in Durham on 7 November 2026. Tickets are priced between £50.00 and £70.00.
5Rhythms®, Systemic Constellations and ancestral wisdom for turbulent times
We are living through uncertain and turbulent times. The world around us can feel polarised, rapidly changing and difficult to navigate. How do we stay centred and resourced without becoming rigid? How do we remain open without losing our grounding? How can we find the movement that supports life and growth?
In this one-day workshop, we will explore these questions through the body, relationship, and the wisdom of our ancestral and spiritual inheritances, using the personal cultural and spiritual heritage of the facilitators as a starting point.
The day is inspired by the Aztec symbol of Ollin, which means movement and earthquake, the powerful shaking that can destroy old structures and create the possibility of transformation. It also represents a still point at the centre of movement, and the four cardinal points, symbolising cosmic balance through movement.
This theme of finding equilibrium is echoed in the Celtic and Norse quaternary cross or sun cross, which symbolises interconnection, harmony, and balance between the four directions. Anchored and resourced by these symbols, you will also be encouraged to draw on your own ancestral heritage to help you remain orientated and connected to life in these times of change.
Using the powerful practices of 5Rhythms® and Systemic Constellations, we will let the body speak, listening deeply to this embodied wisdom and taking time to integrate the experience to support daily life.
Morning: 5Rhythms® - a dynamic movement practice that invites us to connect with ourselves through the body, moving through the rhythms of Flowing, Staccato, Chaos, Lyrical, and Stillness. No dance experience needed, just a willingness to move.
Afternoon: Systemic Constellations - a practice for revealing unseen patterns that keep us stuck and restoring the deeper flow and movement of life within our families, relationships, and systems, helping us to find a more resourced place to stand.
Who is this for?
We welcome all ages, abilities and levels of experience - whether you’re brand new or have practised 5Rhythms® and/or Systemic Constellations work for years.

About your facilitators
Rachel Godfrey-Kurtz:
Rachel has taught 5Rhythms® since completing the training with founder Gabrielle Roth in 2001 and has used the practice as a structure and theoretical and analytic lens in her recently completed PhD. She has taught movement classes, workshops, and events to people of all ages, abilities and experience. She aims to support people to soften into non-judgement so they can find what moves in them naturally and easily. Students consistently speak of feeling safe in the spaces she holds.
Sitna Quiroz:
Sitna is a social anthropologist and a Systemic Constellations practitioner. Sitna is passionate about combining her experience as an academic and practitioner to examine and address the long-term, transgenerational impact of historical experiences on individuals' lives. Having personally experienced the transformative impact of Systemic Constellations in her life, she trained as a practitioner at the Centre for Systemic Constellations (CSC). She is enthusiastic about extending these benefits to others and sharing the potential for positive life changes.
About the collaboration
Sitna and Rachel met through the Institute for Medical Humanities at Durham University, where Sitna leads the ‘Spirituality, Health and Wellbeing’ research theme. Their overlapping worldviews, ways of working, and the complementary nature of these embodied practices make this a natural collaboration: Sitna, already a 5Rhythms® dancer, inspired Rachel to deepen an existing interest in Systemic Constellations by enrolling on the 2026-27 foundation training. They are excited to be working together.
