Peterlee was built around a vision of the future. But the town we know today is only one version of what might have happened.

PRTV (Peterlee Relational Test Vehicle) is investigating Peterlee’s past, present and possible futures. We’re exploring the plans, ambitions and ideas that shaped the town, including those that were changed, abandoned or never realised.

What if Peterlee had developed differently?

In this session, we’ll explore alternative versions of the town. Using historical material, maps, drawings and our own imaginations, we’ll consider what Peterlee might have become, what was lost along the way, and what possibilities remain.

You don’t need to be an artist, a historian or an expert on Peterlee. You can contribute through discussion, drawing, writing, ideas or simply looking at the material and responding to it.
