Join Durham Central Park staff and host Ben Abram for an evening celebrating the story of Durham Central Park and the people who helped make it possible.

We’re bringing back The Park We Made, a beautiful documentary by 3 Attic Entertainment featuring interviews with park founders, event organizers, neighbors, and friends. Recorded in spring 2025, the film captures the stories, ideas, and dedication behind the creation of this beloved downtown greenspace.

Last year’s screening was such a success that we’re bringing it back for everyone who missed it the first time around. Settle in for a true movie-night experience, complete with wine, beer, candy, and popcorn from an honest-to-goodness popcorn machine.

Mingle with park staff, founders, and community members before and after the film, and enjoy a special look at the history of a place that continues to grow and change with Durham.

Come celebrate the park, the people who built it, and the community that continues to make it thrive.

This event is part of the Parties for the Park fundraisers for Durham Central Park. Durham Central Park is a 5-acre city park that is managed, programmed, and developed by Durham Central Park, Inc. (DCP, Inc.), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. DCP, Inc. receives no direct funding from the City of Durham. Funds raised to operate and care for the park come from donations, grants, sponsorships, and fundraisers like these.
