RIBA Sussex Branch welcomes you to a guided visit to Motcombe Pool, a unique heritage project in Eastbourne.

RIBA Sussex Branch welcomes you to a guided visit to Motcombe Pool, a unique heritage project in Eastbourne and one of only 10 early indoor pools registered with Historic Pools of Britain.

Closed in 2020 due to ageing infrastructure, the pool is now being carefully restored and reimagined as a valuable community asset. During the visit, you'll learn about the completion of Phase 1 of the project, which combines heritage conservation, community wellbeing and low-carbon energy solutions.

The project demonstrates how historic buildings can be adapted to remain relevant, sustainable and beneficial to local communities, with a focus on:

Heritage with purpose

Celebrating the past while building for the future

Conserving heritage and creating opportunity

Following the visit, attendees are invited to continue the conversation over drinks at The Lamb Inn.
