Experience a unique sensory journey combining craft chocolate tasting, soothing sound immersion and guided relaxation to return to the body.

Sound baths are immersive experiences that draw on many senses at once – the gentle sounds of the instruments, the softly lit space, the warmth of a blanket and the feeling of being fully supported as you settle into deep relaxation. For these events, we add another sensory layer: craft chocolate tasting.

Chocolate is one of the most complex foods we have and, when made right, it is bursting with depth, flavour and even nutritional benefits (flavanols!). Much like fine wine and whisky tastings, chocolate tasting invites us to slow down and pay attention, bringing us into the smell, texture and taste of the experience and encouraging a naturally mindful state.

During the evening, we taste four different dark chocolates that are naturally vegan (though not sugar-free), usually around the 70% mark. The bars are carefully selected to showcase a variety of flavour profiles, cocoa origins and independent bean-to-bar chocolate makers.

The tasting is paired with the sounds of the Tibetan bowls. Cori from KOA Edinburgh moves round the room as she plays. The sounds and vibrations of Tibetan singing bowls and ambient soundscapes create a deeply calming atmosphere that allows sound and flavour to intertwine.

Weather permitting, we may begin with a few moments in the beautiful Salisbury Centre gardens before coming inside to an array of chocolates and herbal teas. We will be sitting or lying on mats and cushions with blankets to hand, though chairs can be provided if requested. Unfortunately, this event is not wheelchair accessible.

This event is perfect for anyone looking for a fresh take on relaxation, anyone curious about sound journeys, or anyone who simply loves exceptional food and flavour experiences. Expect to leave feeling deeply relaxed, with a new appreciation for bean-to-bar chocolate and plenty of recommendations for outstanding independent makers.
