About This Event

The theatre production Eurydice runs on 30 September 2026 at the Assembly Roxy in Edinburgh. Tickets are available for a price of £12.25 to see the performance starting at 19:30.

‘I was singing your name over and over and over again. Eurydice.’ Orpheus and Eurydice, young and in love, are on a beach. Soon, she will die and he will follow her. It’s a story we tell and retell, over and over again. This time, it begins with a wedding that ends in tragedy, where someone is missing and someone intrudes. On her journey through the underworld, while Orpheus tries to reach her from the world above, Eurydice meets her father, forgets herself, and relearns what life can mean. Exploring love, loss, language, and memory, Sarah Ruhl’s Eurydice strips communication and relationships to their core in her retelling of an ancient tragedy that refuses to be forgotten. Produced by GUTTER. Theatre. The show's runtime is 1hr 30mins. This show will not include an interval.
