About This Event

Guided Walk: The Century Of Iron takes place on 26 August 2026 starting at Cramond in Edinburgh. Participants will walk down the river Almond from the historic Cramond Brig looking for historical evidence. Entry details are available via the website.

Leaving from the historic Cramond Brig (just below Miller and Carter on Queensferry Road), we walk down the river Almond looking for evidence of the Iron industry whose reach was worldwide with small farming implements and nails. The route takes us over the newly installed steps below Peggy’s mill, a climb (and descent) of 70 Steps. If you wish to join, please let us know by emailing us at admin@cramondheritage.org.uk, and provide us with an email address and how many will be coming in your party. Because we cannot check the preferences of all attendees, please do not bring you dog on the walk Come along to Holyrood Park and join this guided walk to learn more about Arthur's Seat's turbulent past, created by fire and ice!
