About This Event

The University of Edinburgh is organising a day trip to the Highlands on Sunday 4 October 2026, with the coach departing promptly at 7am. This excursion offers participants the chance to experience some of Scotland’s most iconic landscapes, travelling through dramatic mountain scenery and past shimmering lochs. The itinerary includes a visit to the Glenfinnan Viaduct, famously known as the Harry Potter Bridge, where the Jacobite steam train regularly crosses. There will also be a stop in the atmospheric Glencoe, a glen steeped in both natural beauty and historical significance. The journey will be conducted by coach, allowing for a comfortable and scenic route into the heart of the Highlands. The trip is priced at £49.18 per person and will be led by a team of knowledgeable guides throughout the day. This is a single-day event, so no accommodation is included, but it provides an excellent opportunity to explore the rugged wilderness and cultural heritage of the region. Spaces are limited, and early booking is advised to secure a seat on this popular excursion.

There will be time for a lunch break in restaurants, however, you can also bring your own packed lunch. Bring with you lots of smiles, Gryffindor Scarf, a camera, warm clothes, proper walking / hiking shoes, an ID, a bottle of water and snacks. We will also have tea/coffee and toilet breaks throughout the journey.

Notes & Terms

Tickets are very limited and available based on first come, first served.

Tickets are non-refundable if you miss the tour for any reason.

If you can no longer attend, you may sell your ticket to others, however, you must notify International Student Tours in advance for check in purposes.

You will receive a reminder email with details and updates a few days prior to departure.

Our tours are open to everyone aged 18 and over, including adult students, professionals, visitors, and tourists. If you wish to book tickets for minors, you must contact us in advance.
