About This Event

A small, friendly Japanese after-school club for children aged 7–12 in Edinburgh South (EH10). Children will explore Japanese through simple phrases, hiragana and katakana, games, crafts, songs, stories and small cultural activities. The club is beginner-friendly, so no prior knowledge of Japanese is needed. This is a calm, structured weekly club for curious children who enjoy languages, creativity and discovering something new. The group is intentionally tiny, with a maximum of 4 children, so each child can receive gentle individual support. Dates: Thursday 13 August – Thursday 8 October 2026, as the autumn term block Time: 15:45–16:30 Location: Edinburgh South (EH10) — exact address provided after booking Age range: 7–12 Group size: maximum 4 children Level: beginner-friendly Price: £13 per session, or £12 per session when booking the full 9-week block Included: learning materials and craft supplies The club is led by Hitomi Kobayashi-Prior, a PVG-checked native Japanese tutor with an MA in Applied Linguistics, 25+ years’ teaching experience, and 17 published books.
