Next comes a chilling descent into the haunted vaults, once home to a horde of criminals, miscreants, and cursed souls, where flickering flames unsettle the senses and every sound or movement makes you flinch. Now it is on to the Canongate graveyard. As you follow your cloaked guide through the Old Town’s narrow closes, the cobbles echo with footsteps and the wind carries more than just a chill. Then, into the graveyard for a hair-raising finale among the dark and foreboding tombs—and here, you may come to feel just how thin the veil really is at Halloween...
