Out of Office Hours by Marion Geoffray is a darkly comic monologue about burnout and domestic paranoia. The play, performed at Summerhall in Edinburgh on 14 November 2026, follows a woman fixated on her partner's office after losing her job. Geoffray is an Edinburgh-based theatre maker whose work explores identity and communication. Tickets cost £11.25.
When Jill suddenly loses her job and is forced to stay home, what was once her sanctuary becomes her prison. Alone with her thoughts, she fixates on the one room she’s not allowed in: her partner’s office. In a darkly comic, claustrophobic monologue, domestic boredom mutates into paranoia, fantasy and madness, a modern fable about burnout, intimacy, and the terror of much time. ABOUT MARION Marion is a theatre-maker, performer, cultural leader and early-career writer based in Edinburgh. As a first generation migrant artist in Scotland, she’s passionate about representation of migrant artists’ stories, accents and identity on Scottish stages. Her work encompasses devising, new writing and physical theatre to create productions on the themes of communication, home, and identity, often adopting a multi-sensory and multi-cultural approach. ABOUT OFFSPRING Launching Spring 2026, Offspring Festival was the first of two annual festivals curated by writer and director Kolbrún Björt Sigfúsdóttir aka Kol. We now invite you to join us for the autumn festival, Offspring – Their Dark Materials, happening over two days in November with three full script readings, one scratch event and two networking events. Offspring Festival features three new plays that we think deserve love and a platform as well as extracts from folk that Offspring have not featured before. The goal with the festival is to make it easier for these pieces, and those to come, to find their audience and potential partners. The Kolective is about making connections. We hope you join us! Preceded by free event Kolect – a speed-dating game for migrant theatre makers and those who want to work with them starting 19.45.
