About the Tour
Get ready for an exciting journey to Scotland’s beautiful and majestic West Coast, where you’ll explore historic castles and experience some of the most breathtaking coastal scenery and walks along the Irish Sea and Galloway. Our main destination is the charming seaside town of Portpatrick and the nearby Dunskey Castle. Nestled on the far western coast of the Rhinns of Galloway, Portpatrick is a true gem, with its pastel-coloured houses lining a peaceful bay, dramatic cliffs in the background, and views that will leave you speechless. We'll also visit the historic Dunure Castle, dramatically perched on a rocky promontory overlooking Dunure Beach and Harbour. Fans of Outlander will recognize this iconic location — Dunure was used as the port where Jamie and Claire reunite with Jared and set sail for Jamaica aboard the Artemis. It’s also where Brianna and Roger began their journeys to the colonies. Our adventure continues with a stop at Dean Castle, another Outlander filming location, located in the heart of Kilmarnock. You’ll have plenty of time to explore this impressive 14th-century fortress and uncover its rich and bloody history. This is a fun-filled day trip packed with dramatic coastal walks, historic Scottish castles, and famous film locations — a perfect escape to the South West Coast you won’t want to miss!
