Students will get their first taste of the new entertainment programme this September, as Edinburgh University opens its doors for Welcome Week (12 until 20 September). Tickets are now on sale for major, unmissable events during Welcome Week, which include: • TikTok sensations ALTÉGO headline the Welcome Party on Saturday 19th. The DJ duo, renowned for their high-energy remixes of chart hits, shot to international prominence with their viral 2022 track Toxic Pony and now attract more than 1.5 million monthly listeners on Spotify. • On Thursday 17th, experience DJ Emkay, Seoul's leading K-pop DJ. Known for her dynamic sets and distinctive take on the global dance-pop phenomenon, DJ Emkay has built a devoted following among K-pop fans around the world. • Red Rodeo Club takes over Potterrow on Sunday 13th. This high-energy queer line dancing party featuring three of the UK's most boot-scootin' drag performers. Following sell-out shows in Manchester and Liverpool, the event makes its Edinburgh debut. • For the first time, the Edinburgh Big Freshers Icebreaker is hosted at Potterrow on Monday 14th, after 17 years of sell-out successes across the city. • Catch three of the UK’s leading tribute acts. The rivalrous Pink Pony vs Brat night on Tuesday 15th sees two pop powerhouses, Chappell and Charli, battle off in a huge tribute showdown. Prepare to go worldwide for a massive Pitbull appreciation night on Saturday 19th. • Rounding off the Welcome Week programme in true student style, Potterrow will host the official Varsity Rugby Afterparty on Friday 18th, bringing players and supporters together to celebrate one of the biggest fixtures in the university sporting calendar.
