Collective Gallery host the first exhibition in their new early-career artists’ development programme, Time + Space. From 10 July to 13 September 2026, Richard Maguire will present There Is No Beginning, As There Is No End, an exhibition of drawing and sculpture that considers British and South Asian histories, interrogating power relations and representations of race and sexuality. Barbed wire and link fencing feature throughout Maguire’s drawings. Working also from archival photographs, Islamic painted miniatures, and Hindu statues, his drawings acknowledge the ways that material and cultural production illustrate the workings of colonial oppression. Combining learning and professional development with exhibition opportunities, this new annual open programme offers artists at the beginning of their careers support to make and present new work, and to engage with the gallery’s audiences.
