About This Event

Richard Maguire will present an exhibition of drawings and sculptures exploring British and South Asian histories at Collective Edinburgh. The show considers power relations and repression within its artistic practice. Attendance costs are listed as Check website on 10 July 2026.

Primarily working in drawing and sculpture, Maguire's practice considers British and South Asian histories, interrogating power relations and representations of race and sexuality. Referring to archives and material culture, Maguire explores how historical systems of oppression recur within the present. Time + Space is supported by Creative Scotland’s Multi-Year Funding Programme. Image: Richard Maguire, Premises of Stricture, graphite on paper, commissioned by Collective Gallery, 2026. Cramond is one of the oldest continuously occupied places in Scotland, and The Maltings is your gateway into that extraordinary story, from 8,500 BC right through to the Victorian era! Join Fiona Johnston, audio describer, at The King's Gallery in the Palace of Holyroodhouse, as she describes various images in the exhibition The Edwardians: Age of Elegance.
