About This Event

The RSNO: Brahms’ Violin Concerto event will take place on 23rd October 2026 at Usher Hall in Edinburgh. It is a music event featuring various artists and admission costs are checkable on the website.

With some pieces, you just want to close your eyes and let your imagination paint a picture. For our Finnish guest conductor Emilia Hoving, it’s all about the landscape of the far North: lakes, forests, midnight sunlight and the shimmering wonder of the Northern Lights. So let your ears do the gazing in Finnish classics by Saariaho and Sibelius – and join RSNO Leader Maya Iwabuchi on an autumn getaway to the Austrian Alps, in Brahms’ magnificent Violin Concerto. Gain insight into the music with our musicians at the pre-concert talk at 6.45pm in the Upper Circle Bar in Edinburgh and the Clyde Foyer in Glasgow. Free to ticket holders. The running time of this concert is approximately 2 hours, including a 20-minute interval.
