The Scandalous Women of Old Edinburgh walking tours are led by author Kate Foster, who writes historical fiction based on real women. This one-hour walking tour of the incredible streets of the Old Town takes you on a storytelling journey of the women who were branded notorious, criminals or witches and asks - what makes a woman scandalous? Starting at the National Museum of Scotland we will visit locations and meet women who were executed, accused of sorcery and who became infamous pleasure ladies and mistresses. The tour is less than a mile up to Parliament Square then down to the Grassmarket. Kate Foster is the author of historical novels set in Edinburgh, The Maiden, The King's Witches and The Mourning Necklace.
