Preserving the records of the Jewish Experience in Scotland
The Scottish Jewish Archives Centre (SJAC) founded in 1987 collects, preserves and makes accessible diverse records and collections charting over 200 years of Jewish experience in Scotland.
Based in the historic Garnethill Synagogue, in Glasgow, SJAC has expanded significantly and in recent years created The Scottish Holocaust-era Study Centre and co-founded The Scottish Jewish Heritage Centre (SJHC) both opened in 2021.
This presentation will highlight the periods of Jewish immigration into Scotland, give an overview of the SJAC collections and their use in family history research.
The presentation will be given by Harvey Kaplan SJAC co- founder and hon director and Deborah Haase SJAC Hon Curator.

ACCESSIBILITY INFORMATION
There are two ticket options for attending this talk, depending on accessibility requirements:
Ticket 1: Seminar Room
This is the primary venue for the talk. It is not accessible by lift. They can be accessed by stairs or using a stairlift.
· The stairlift is suitable for users who can self-transfer to the stairlift seat.
· The stairlift has a maximum weight capacity of 120kg.
· Additionally, there is a self-propelling wheelchair available on the same floor as the seminar room.
Ticket 2: Exhibition Room
This is an alternative fully-accessible venue within the building that has direct lift access. The talk will be broadcast live, with live Q&A facilitated by a member of staff. Please note the capacity for this room is limited so please only select this option for you / your group if necessary.
