Reuniting with the creative team behind 2023’s award-winning *Il trittico*, McVicar confronts the darkness of the work head on, neither flinching from *Turandot*’s trauma nor excusing Prince Calaf’s recklessness. Instead, he uncovers a deeply moving tale of two lost souls trapped between fear and desire, until compassion and courage change everything. Stuart Stratford conducts **The Orchestra of Scottish Opera** and a stellar cast, with **Trine Bastrup Møller**, **Victor Starsky**, **Insung Sim**, and **Hye-Youn Lee** (*La bohème* 2025), through some of opera’s most stirring music – including ‘Nessun dorma’ and ‘In questa reggia’. With opulent set and costume designs by **Charles Edwards** and **Doey Lüthi**, and spectacular lighting by **Ben Pickersgill**, *Turandot*’s gothic splendour comes to life in what promises to be a production like no other.
