Edinburgh sits so far north – 56 degrees north of the equator – that our summer skies never get fully dark. There is always a little bit of sunlight spilling up over the horizon which means that stargazing in Scotland in summer is… really not that great! But, in the Planetarium, we can sidestep nature. We’ll delete the Sun (temporarily!) so we will be able to stargaze in perfect darkness: spotting stars, planets and perhaps a galaxy or two! Plus – we’ll be delving into the incredible Artemis II mission which took four astronauts further into space than any other human, around the moon and back home again. We will take a look at some of our favourite moments from their mission and, of course, some of the amazing photographs they took along the way. Showing daily from 1st June – 30th August.
