An unforgettable Muslim Hikers weekend away.
For the third year running, we're heading back to Devon for one of the highlights of the Muslim Hikers calendar.
This isn’t just a hike, it’s a 3-day retreat of adventure, relaxation and community in some of the UK’s most beautiful landscapes.
Set between the wild beauty of Dartmoor and the dramatic coastline of North Devon, our Annual Devon Retreat combines inspiring trails, outdoor activities, campfires, shared meals and unforgettable experiences into one incredible weekend.
Part of the YHA Festival of Walking and delivered in partnership with the National Trust, this retreat is about more than walking — it’s about connection, reflection and creating memories that last a lifetime.
Last year’s retreat was such a success that we had to do it again, and with a brand new headline coastal hike on Sunday, plus a packed itinerary of optional activities, this weekend is not to be missed.
FRIDAY & SATURDAY – YOUR WEEKEND, YOUR WAY
The first two days of the retreat are all about free time, relaxation and community.
You'll be based at YHA Okehampton, surrounded by walking trails, cycling routes and outdoor activities.
We'll have a range of optional activities available throughout the weekend, including archery, axe throwing, climbing wall, bike hire, trail running, a welcome walk and campfire socials, but everything is optional.
This is your chance to:
Take part in organised activities
Explore independently
Enjoy Dartmoor at your own pace
Spend time with old and new friends
Friday arrivals are from 12pm onwards and we strongly encourage participants to arrive early where possible. Jummah prayers will be facilitated, allowing participants to make the most of the afternoon and enjoy an extra day of the retreat.
SUNDAY – THE MAIN EVENT (NATIONAL TRUST PARTNERSHIP)
Morte Point Circular Walk – a spectacular coastal adventure with dramatic cliffs, fascinating rock formations, hidden coves and stunning sea views.
Starting from Marine Drive, we'll explore one of North Devon's most beautiful headlands before continuing towards Woolacombe. On a clear day, we'll enjoy views across to Lundy Island and, if we're lucky, may even spot seals along the coastline.
We'll also stop at a local tea room before returning via Woolacombe and finishing back at the Porthole Café.
Meet 09:00, hike starts 10:00, finish approx. 15:00.
