What is a folk tale, but a tangled woodland of words, where anything could happen?

Ever since the last ice melted, trees have been our constant companions. Trees have transformed us, protected us, inspired us and created bridges for us. They will continue to shape our lives as we walk into an uncertain future.

Join us in the bookshop on 10 November 2026 for a very special book event with storyteller, ecologist & author Lisa Schneidau in celebration of her new book, Tree Folk: Tree Folk Tales, Songs & Lore from Britain and Ireland (https://uk.bookshop.org/a/12105/9781837051304).

Lisa will share some of Britain and Ireland's rich heritage of folk tales, history, knowledge and song about trees. Following the wheel of the year, she will bring our trees alive through their stories and songs, whether they are rooted in rural magic or modern myth. Following the talk, you will be able to ask your questions and pick up a signed copy of Lisa's new book.

This event is free, but advanced booking is required.
