Four Munros. Two days. Two lifts. One very different way to experience the Highlands. Let's get uplifted.
Uplifted is a two-day mountain running weekend that takes on two challenging Munros each day, with four summits bagged across the weekend - accommodation included.
What makes this weekend different is how we access the mountains!
Each day, a mountain lift will take us part of the way up – the Nevis Range Mountain gondola on one day and the chairlift at Glencoe Mountain Resort on the other. But this isn't a ride-to-the-top experience - lifts only get us part way there. We'll still have substantial mountain climbing to do but the lifts change the balance of the day. We'll be using uplift to take the sting out of the ascent and put the emphasis where trail runners love it most: the descent! Plus, the uplift is a novel experience in its own right, as you'll ride both a gondola and a chairlift over the weekend; visiting two of the four resorts with this unique capability in the UK!
We'll be bagging:
Meall a' Bhuiridh – 1,108m; Rising above the Glencoe Mountain Resort with huge views across Rannoch Moor.
Creise – 1,100m; A rugged, rocky summit with a more serious mountain feel and spectacular views towards Buachaille Etive Mòr and Glen Etive.
Aonach Mòr – 1,221m; Big, high and dramatic, with the Nevis Range Gondola putting you straight into an extraordinary mountain environment. Scotland's 10th highest mountain.
Aonach Beag – 1,234m; Scotland's 7th highest mountain and highest of the four, delivering spectacular views over the North Face of Ben Nevis.
Join us for a sociable weekend which includes:
Two days of guided mountain running with our local team of run guides
Uplift costs included in your ticket x 2
Two comfortable nights at Roam West (https://roamwest.co.uk/)(2 or 3 pers per room) - Friday and Saturday night, with self-catering facilities for breakfast/meals and cosy bar restaurant on site
LOGISTICS
Given the remote location of our event, it's useful if you can bring a car for getting to/from the start each day but it's also possible to join this event by public transport (Roam West is a 2 minute walk from the Inchree bus-stop on the A82 between Fort William and Glencoe). We will facilitate your travel arrangements with shuttles/lift-sharing where possible and are committed to making your logistics work. We encourage lift-sharing locally, to reduce environmental impact and pressure on busy parking areas.
We pride ourselves on being 'approachable and relatable' so please do get in touch with any concerns or queries you might have now or nearer to the event. We look forward to having some fun and showing you some incredible running in our back garden!
