2 days - BOOKBINDING - Beginners and Improvers - young adults and adults

Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th of August - 10.30 to 4, the fee is €135, all included!

Book and join us for a relaxing weekend, practicing this beautiful art.

This is a very comprehensive course, where students can follow at their own pace, helped step by step by the workshop leader, art teacher and artist Laurie Legrand, practiced technician, M.A. Fine Art graduate with more than 30 years international teaching experience.

Course Content/ participants will learn to:

- differentiate different types of books and how they can be reproduced,

- set a basic book-binding station at home

- stitch and glue 2 very versatile types of book-blocks (single and double pages/signatures) which will allow them to tackle most projects on their own in the future.

- Make a hard cover and add a page marker

- make a matching pencil for each book

Each student will be receiving a printed step by step coursebook to bring home

There is no material list for this workshop, but students are asked to bring 2 wooden boards minimum A4 size and 1cm or 1.5cm thickness with clamps, or weights, to bring the books back home, while preventing warping while drying.
