'How We Learned About Consent': The Impact of Active* Consent’s Theatre Programme 2019-2026.

Join us for a celebration of Active* Consent’s signature research-based play and its impact across Ireland and beyond. We will bring Active* Consent’s play back to the stage for one day only featuring current students, staff and alumni who have been involved with the play from its earliest development stages in 2015 to the present.

This event features new restagings of scenes from various versions of our play (The Kinds of Sex You Might Have in College and How I Learned About Consent) as well as archival footage from previous tours.

This abridged restaging of the play will be interspersed with team and stakeholder reflections on a new executive summary report documenting the journey and impact of our three live theatre tours to third-level institutions and secondary schools across Ireland between 2019-2026.

We will also reflect on our secondary school spin-off programme Consent on Our Screens which has enabled teachers to bring the play into their classrooms through interactive drama activities.

Together, we will consider the impact of combining our consent education model and theatre to date and what possibilities may exist for the future of our work.
