Join us to learn about castles and churches, royalty and rebellion, bygone industrial mills and workers cottages, artists and architects, roads and railways - all of which played their part in the timeline of a humble village that became an affluent Victorian suburb of Scotland's only metropolis.
Attendee Info (ticket holders only):
Open to all aged 16+
Meet at the Delvin Rd exit of Cathcart railway station, 1245 for a 1pm start.
The walk will last 1.5-2 hours and will be within approx 1 km of the start point.
It is possible to bring a dog but please use a short lead at all times and consider that we will be a large group listening to the tour guide.
Accessibility
This walk includes steep inclines at points, plus off-path elements, and will not be fully accessible for those with mobility issues. Sturdy footwear is recommended. Check the weather beforehand - rain-proof clothing advisable if it looks changeable.
Please advise the tour guide of any hearing or sight needs prior to the start.
Unfortunately there are no toilet facilities but one of the cafe’s or the Old Smiddy pub in Cathcart may allow use.

There are regular trains to Cathcart from Central Station
The Number 4, 4A and 6 buses stop very close on HolmleaRd/Clarkston road travelling fthrough Glasgow City Centre or from Newton Mearns/Clarkston (4 & 4A) and East Kilbride (6).
