Legendary DJ, music writer and broadcaster Dave Haslam joins us to discuss his new book Creative Journeys, a fascinating and inspiring collection of interviews with world renowned artists and creators. From his hundreds of times DJing at Manchester's Hacienda nightclub, to writing for the nation's top newspapers, Dave Haslam has met a lot of remarkable people. Gathered in this new book are his most illuminating interviews with the most fascinating figures in music, literature, film and art, including Neneh Cherry, Jarvis Cocker, Maxine Peake, Paddy Considine and more! The discussions cover all aspects of creative life and artistic struggle, from politics to crafting a performance, the highs of fame to the lows of addiction. Dave Haslam will be talking to Stephen McRobbie, frontman of the legendary indie group the Pastels, record label boss, and co-founder of Glasgow record store Monorail. Dave interviewed him twice in the 1980s including once for NME; they have a lot of catching up to do! They will be discussing their creative lives and the highlights of Dave's interviews, as well as taking your questions, followed by a book signing.
