About This Event

The Mackintosh Tearooms exhibition brings the story of pioneering entrepreneur Miss Kate Cranston and her collaboration with architect and designer Charles Rennie Mackintosh to life on 25 June 2026 at The Mackintosh Tearooms in Glasgow.

Discover the story of pioneering entrepreneur Miss Kate Cranston and her remarkable collaboration with architect and designer Charles Rennie Mackintosh and artist Margaret Macdonald. Together, they created one of Glasgow’s most iconic and influential interiors, shaping a new vision for modern living at the turn of the 20th century. This immersive exhibition explores how art, social change and enterprise came together to define an era. Through thoughtfully curated interactive, audio and visual displays, you are invited to engage more deeply with the people and ideas behind the Mackintosh Tearooms. National Trust for Scotland members enjoy complimentary access to the exhibition. Please note that exhibition tickets do not include refreshments.
