About This Event

The Fossil Grove Trust holds an open day at the site in Victoria Park, Glasgow on 20 September 2026. Volunteers guide visitors through the building to view 330 million-year-old fossil trees alongside displays of other fossils. Advance booking is not required.

Marvel at this piece of ancient history in the beautiful surroundings of Victoria Park. Experts will be on hand to show you round the interior of the Fossil Grove building to view the 330 million year old trees. There will also be activities and displays of other carboniferous fossils. Open days are organised and run by volunteers of the Fossil Grove Trust, and the Geological Society of Glasgow. Advance booking not required, but please get in touch with the organisers if you have any questions.
