The Dep Sessions is bringing something new to Glasgow's music scene: a night where you can play in a band even if you don't have one. Here's how it works. Musicians of any experience level sign up individually for a part in a song, whether that's vocals, guitar, bass, drums or keys. You pick a song from the setlist, learn your part in the weeks before the show, then turn up on the night and play it live with a group of people you've likely never met before. No auditions. No egos. Just musicians who love playing, brought together for one night to make music as strangers turned bandmates. Session One takes place on Thursday 29th October 2026 at The Record Factory, Glasgow, and marks the first ever live outing for the project after months of development. The Dep Sessions was built around a simple idea: a lot of people who can play an instrument or sing don't have a band to play with, whether that's because they've never found the right people, don't have time to commit to a full band, or are just looking for a lower-pressure way back into playing live. This event removes that barrier entirely. Each song on the setlist has been chosen by community vote, and lineups are formed from whoever signs up for each part, meaning every performance is unique to that night. It's part gig, part social experiment, and entirely about the joy of playing music with other people.
