Two creative playwriting workshops led by John Binnie will take place at the Mitchell Library in Glasgow on 7 November 2026. Participants will create characters and monologues inspired by Agatha Christie's murder mysteries. A ticket is required for attendance.
Two fun, creative, playwriting workshops led by award-winning dramatist John Binnie. Taking Agatha Christie's murder mysteries as a jumping off point, come along and create characters, monologues and locations that wouldn't be out of place in one of the 66 detective whodunnits by the Queen of crime. Whether its on an exotic cruise, a vicarage, a stately home, a den of iniquity or a snow-bound tr ain, let your imagination run free and upend expectations as we explore disguise, intrigue, subterfuge and outrageousness. Let's explore characters who will stop at nothing to get their hands on last wills and testaments, or take revenge on ill-fated love affairs. No previous writing experience is necessary, just a willingness to be creative and share your stories with the group. Development workshops take place over two consecutive weeks in the Mitchell Library on Saturday 7th November and Saturday 14th November, 2:30-4:00pm. Participants must be able to attend both sessions. For more information, please call 0141 287 2919 or email mitchelllibrary@glasgowlife.org.uk These workshops are part of the ‘Agatha Christie: A World of Mystery' exhibition at the Mitchell Library.
