An Evening with Glasgow’s Witches 🖤
Friday 13th November 2026
For centuries, Scotland’s relationship with witchcraft has been shaped by folklore, fear, persecution, hidden traditions and, more recently, reclamation.
This Friday the 13th of Nov, Glasgow Witchy Bazaar invites you to spend an evening exploring it all.
An Evening with Glasgow’s Witches brings together three very different voices for an intimate evening exploring Scottish witchcraft. From real stories of the past to folk traditions, modern practice and the ways people are reconnecting with them today.
This isn’t another Glasgow Witchy Bazaar market.
It’s an evening to sit down, listen, learn, ask questions, meet like minded people and immerse yourself in Scotland’s relationship with witchcraft past and present.
✦ THE SASSENACH HISTORIAN
Bringing Scotland’s witch-hunting history to life through storytelling, The Sassenach Historian will explore the real people, accusations and persecution behind the Scottish witch trials, separating the history from the myths and uncovering the human stories behind one of Scotland’s darkest periods.
✦ THE SPIRITUAL SCIENTIST
Bringing the conversation into the present day, The Spiritual Scientist will explore modern reclamation from conditioning and the fear of being seen to shadow work, visibility and reclaiming the parts of ourselves we’ve been taught to hide.
✦ HEADLINE TALK ~ THAT GLASGOW WITCH
The History of Scottish Witchcraft, Animism & Folk Magic and the Reclaiming of the Wheel of the Year
That Glasgow Witch will take us through Scotland’s relationship with witchcraft and folk tradition from pre Christian Scottish folk culture through to the modern reclamation of the witch.
Explore animism, folk magic and paganism before looking at what changed following the Witchcraft Act of 1563: the vilification of folk traditions, the practices that continued in plain sight, and how the figure of the witch has since been reclaimed.
We’ll then turn to the Celtic Wheel of the Year, exploring the Quarter Days and Cross-Quarter Days and what it can mean to reclaim your calendar and reconnect with the seasonal rhythms that came before us.
✦ LIVE PANEL + AUDIENCE Q&A
After the talks, our three speakers will come together for a live panel discussion and audience Q&A bringing history, folk tradition and modern perspectives into one conversation.
Your chance to dig deeper, hear different perspectives and ask the questions you’ve always wanted to ask.
✦ SHOP, EXPLORE & CONNECT
Throughout the evening, you’ll have time to explore a carefully curated collection of magical makers and readers, with dedicated breaks for shopping, readings, drinks and conversation.
Because Glasgow Witchy Bazaar has always been about more than shopping.
It’s about community. 🖤
