Murder. Grave robbers. Gangs. Prisoners. The Gorbals Vampire. And much more. Back by popular demand after 6 sell-out years! This Halloween, join us once again for a 1.5 hour walking tour through some of the darkest chapters of Glasgow’s past. From unsolved true crime murders and notorious prison inmates to grave robbing, gangsters and Glasgow’s connections to the transatlantic slave trade, discover the people, places and events that shaped the city from a very different perspective. Glasgow was built on industry, shaped by its working class and marked by centuries of crime, poverty, violence and social change. Hear about the gangs that once operated out of ice-cream vans, the Resurrectionists who robbed graves for medical science, and the darker stories that have become part of Glasgow’s folklore. Along the way, uncover some of the city’s most notorious characters and unsettling stories, from Bible John and Duke Street Prison to the Gorbals Vampire and the last hanging in Scotland. With a local guide bringing the history to life, this is Glasgow as you’ve never seen it before. Tour highlights: The last hanging in Scotland The inspiration behind Frankenstein Grave robbers Bible John Duke Street Prison The Resurrectionists The Gorbals Vampire …& much more! Meet outside the main entrance to Glasgow Cathedral (the tour ends outside Glasgow Green near the High Court)
