Performance 1 - 11.30am Performance 2 - 1pm Brrr is a new multi-sensory installation and live performance by choreographer Hayley Earlam, made for audiences with complex needs aged 10–18. Set within an inflatable dome, Brrr is an immersive exploration of winter featuring dance, sound, video and lots and lots of snow. Created in collaboration with young people, Brrr offers a gentle and responsive space where the audience has the choice to respond in their own way. Every performance is shaped by the audience in the room, offering young people the freedom to engage at their own pace. The performance is suitable for those with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD), Autistic and neurodivergent individuals, and wheelchair users or other mobility aid users. It features minimal to no language, making it suitable for non-verbal, Deaf and non-English-speaking audiences. With a limited capacity of 8 young people plus accompanying adults, Brrr offers a restorative and inclusive theatrical experience of winter. Duration - 45 mins - 1 hr ACCESS This performance is specifically designed for young audiences with complex needs aged 10–18, including audiences with PMLD, autistic and neurodivergent young people, and wheelchair users or other mobility-aid users. Accompanying adults are welcome. Relaxed Performance Highly visual - No text Brrr is designed specifically as a sensory theatre experience for young audiences with complex needs, with access woven into every part of the performance. Audiences are free to engage with the work in their own way and at their own pace. Lighting: Lighting is gentle and responsive, with changing and shifting light effects. There are no flashing or strobe lights. Sound: The performance features original music and sound. Sound levels are designed to be gentle and responsive to the audience. Audience Movement: Audiences are free to move around the performance space, vocalise, take breaks, leave and return, and engage with the performance in their own way and at their own pace. There is no expectation to sit still or engage in a particular way. Re-entry: Audiences can leave and return to the performance space as needed. A dedicated Dip-Out space is available, with a live feed of the performance, allowing audiences to continue experiencing the show from a quieter space. A social story is also available for audiences to look through before attending, helping them know what to expect from their visit.
