About This Event

For further information please visit the conference website: https://www.gla.ac.uk/schools/bohvm/about/events/headline_1279686_en.html For those who have already submitted abstracts, registration is not necessary and the organising committee will be in contact to confirm your attendance and presentation/poster slot. Meeting Information The University of Glasgow first established a field station on the shores of Loch Lomond in 1946. Originally built and equipped with War Department surplus materials, the field station (now known as the Scottish Centre for Ecology and the Natural Environment or SCENE) is celebrating 80 years of research and field-based teaching. Over the past 80 years, researchers based at or working with SCENE have played a central role in advancing our understanding of the Loch Lomond catchment and its underlying biological and geological processes. This free to attend, multidisciplinary conference will celebrate the advances in research made in the Loch Lomond catchment. It will provide a contemporary account of our knowledge of the catchment including perspectives on glacial history, historical land use, biogeochemistry, physicochemistry, ecology and management. We hope that the conference will provide researchers, practitioners and students with an up-to-date understanding of the largest lake in Great Britain, its surrounding landscapes and its challenges in a changing world. A schedule of talks and posters will be circulated prior to the event. For further information please visit the conference website: https://www.gla.ac.uk/schools/bohvm/about/events/headline_1279686_en.html Special Issue We aim to produce a proceedings to draw together the research presented at the conference. More information will be provided on this soon. Travel The meeting venue (LLTNP HQ) is easily accessible by public transport. It is 500 meters from the Balloch train station that has regular connections to Glasgow (50 mins from Glasgow Queen Street) and 400 meters from the bus station. If travelling by car, there are multiple parking options near the venue. For any enquiries, please email: mvls-scene@glasgow.ac.uk
