Join artist Erin Rhode for a day-full of monoprinting, weaving, creative exploration, making mistakes, making friends and slowing down! About the Artist Erin is a monoprint, collage & textile artist based in Glasgow's Southside. She grew up in Devon, exploring woodlands and coastlines, finding faces in the twisted trees, playing with the earth and being mesmerised by the ever-changing patterns in the sea.🌀 Now, she makes original artworks (https://www.instagram.com/erin.rhode.workshop/) that hold spontaneity, play and storytelling at their core; expect whimsical worlds, creatures and experimental abstracts.🪲 Erin is also an experienced arts facilitator. For the last 5 years, she has worked creatively with people of all ages and backgrounds. In her workshops; mistakes are celebrated, fun is prioritised and everyone is welcome!🧡 〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️ About the Workshop 🌝 Monoprinting 10-11am In the morning, we will begin by exploring how to make yummy monoprint textures with curious mark making tools. Think experimentation, colour and satisfying results. Monoprinting Explained Monoprinting is a wonderful, forgivable process, perfect for people new to creating or those who are keen to have fun and let go creatively. It involves rolling out a thin layer of paint/ink, placing paper on top and applying pressure with curios tools (such as forks, tin foil, pasta and our fingertips) to make textural marks. 🌈 Weaving 11-1pm In the afternoon we will learn how to weave our unique monoprints together to create original art full of colour, texture and joy! Think slow-paced and meditative. Weaving Explained Weaving is slow, meditative and immensely satisfying for the mind and the eyes! It involves cutting paper into strips and weaving them over and under each other to bind them together.
