About This Event

On 6 March 2027, the Royal Scottish National Orchestra (RSNO) celebrated the music of Steve Reich at Glasgow Royal Concert Hall. Under the baton of Ian Dearden, this evening's programme showcased three significant works by the renowned composer: "Steve Reich New York Counterpoint," "Music for Ensemble and Orchestra," and the sprawling "The Desert Music." Accompanying the orchestra were special guests Colin Currie and the Dunedin Consort Chorus, whose performances offered a profound exploration of Reich’s unique musical language. This event promised an immersive journey through Reich's innovative compositions, marking a significant moment in both classical music and contemporary performance at the venue.
