About This Event

On 7 February 2027, Glasgow Royal Concert Hall's New Auditorium will host a unique chamber music event with a special emphasis on the trombone quartet. Directed by Principal Trombone Dávur Juul Magnussen, this ensemble will collaborate with the RSNO Youth Chorus, led by artistic director Patrick Barrett. The programme will showcase compositions by Arvo Pärt and feature contributions from the RSNO Trombone Quartet, promising a distinctive blend of contemporary and choral music. This event is set to offer an enriching musical experience for all attendees.

Programme includes: Serocki Trombone Quartet Arvo Pärt Summa RSNO Trombone Quartet RSNO Youth Chorus Patrick Barrett Director, RSNO Youth Choruses It’s not often the trombones take the spotlight at the front of the stage. Under the leadership of Principal Trombone Dávur Juul Magnussen, expect a concert filled with atmosphere, serenity (in Arvo Pärt’s beautiful Summa) and raw energy. For any additional concerts during 2026:27, whether bought in a separate transaction or along with a season subscription, the standard £1.50 restoration fund per ticket will apply.
